John 8:14–47

How Do I Know I am Not Part of the Family of God?

1. Being self-righteous (vv. 20–22)
2. Being consumed with earthly things(vv. 23, 24)
3. Being unbelieving (v. 24)
4. Being willfully ignorant (vv. 25–29)

How Can I know I am Part of the Family of God?

1. Belief in Jesus Christ as Messiah and Son of God
2. Perseverance in obedience to Scripture. “Abide” A genuine believer holds fast, obeys, and practices Jesus’ teaching.
3. Changed life – no longer slave to sin (vs. 36)
4. Love for Jesus Christ (vs. 42)
