Want to “get something out of church” this week?
Here are some simple steps. Take your Bible, a pen, and a notebook to church. Then…
- sit up front
- sing loudly
- turn to the text and write down the heading (chapter and verses)
- actively listen; engage your mind
- underline key verses in your Bible
- write down what your pastor emphasizes and what the Holy Spirit says to you.
- ask questions about the text and write them down (who/what/when/where/how)
- after church, read through the verses again and answer the questions in your notes
- call/text your pastor with questions from the text. He won’t mind!
- get with another believer and go over your questions/answers from the text
- meditate on that text all week!
Get in the Word until the Word gets into you! (Gallaty)
