Peace for Today
In the book of John, Jesus tells His disciples with a profound promise of peace, saying, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (14:27)Jesus offers his followers a peace that remains steadfast even in the face of adversity and fear.
Throughout the Scriptures, peace is depicted as more than just the absence of conflict or turmoil; it is a state of harmony and tranquility that emanates from a relationship with Jesus. Psalm 29:11 says, “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.” This verse illustrates how peace is not merely a human achievement but a divine blessing bestowed upon those who seek strength and refuge in the Lord.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. In Philippians 4:7 Paul explains that the peace of God transcends human comprehension, guiding them through life’s tumultuous journey with unwavering assurance that no matter what happens, He is with us. Do you have peace today?
