The Lords’ Table is one part of our service where we remember Jesus’ love and sacrifice. When we gather to share communion, we eat bread and drink juice as symbols of Jesus’ body and blood. As we partake, we reflect on Jesus’ words from Matthew 26:26-28, where He took bread and cup, blessed it, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” Then, He took the cup and told his disciples, “Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:27-28). These Scriptures remind us of Jesus’ selfless act of love and redemption, bringing us closer to God and one another.

Just as Jesus shared this meal with His disciples, Christians continue this tradition. Through communion, we affirm our belief in the promise of eternal life and the forgiveness of sins, as expressed in 1 Corinthians 11:26: “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come”. This simple yet profound act strengthens our spiritual resolve and deepens our relationship with God, inspiring us to live out our faith in love and service to others.
