Why Celebrate Labor Day?
Labor Day is a time to honor the contributions of workers and recognize the importance of rest and rejuvenation. This holiday reminds us that all labor has its dignity and value. In Ecclesiastes 3:13, it is said, “And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.” This verse highlights that God wants us to find joy and satisfaction in our work, encouraging us to celebrate our accomplishments and the fruits of our efforts.
Labor Day also serves as a reminder that rest is an essential part of our lives. In Mark 2:27, we learn, “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.” This verse teaches us that rest is designed for our benefit, emphasizing the necessity of taking time off to recharge. As we celebrate Labor Day, let us appreciate the labor we do while also committing to taking the time we need to rest, reflect, and refresh our spirits.

September Memory Verses
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
