Preparing Your Heart for Sunday’s Service
Preparing your heart for worship before Sunday is essential for a meaningful experience during our service. It’s a time to reflect on your relationship with God and to set aside distractions. Spend some quiet moments in prayer, asking God to open your heart and mind to His presence. As 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us, “The Lord looks at the heart, not just outward appearances.” This encourages us to focus on our inner attitudes as we prepare to worship, ensuring we come with sincerity and humility.
Additionally, consider reading Scripture to inspire and guide your thoughts. In Psalm 51:10, we’re reminded to ask God, “Create in me a clean heart.” This verse highlights the importance of seeking purity and readiness as we approach worship. Also, in Colossians 3:2, we are encouraged to “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” By focusing on God’s greatness and love, we prepare ourselves to fully engage in worship, allowing His Spirit to move in our hearts and minds.
Finally, ask God to help you leave differently than you came in, and pray to be changed by His Word. Entering worship with a prepared heart and mind will revolutionize your worship experience.

September Memory Verses
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
